About costa-delsol.com
An English-language guide to Spain’s Costa del Sol for visitors, people planning a move and residents. Who is behind it, how we work and how the site is financed.
We cover the coast of Málaga province, from Manilva in the west to Nerja in the east, together with neighbouring Sotogrande in the province of Cádiz. Our subjects are places and day trips, restaurants and food, golf, beaches, property and the practical side of living here, from residency rules to schools and healthcare. Our German edition, costa-delsol.de, covers the same coast for German-speaking readers.
Who is responsible
The site is published by Norbert Davidt (isla.marketing) in Palma de Mallorca, who is also responsible for its editorial content. It belongs to a network of regional magazines that isla.marketing runs together with NexTao GmbH in Düsseldorf. Full publisher details are in our Legal Notice.
How we work
Articles appear under the name of an editorial desk rather than an individual writer. We use AI tools to help research, draft and translate articles. A person decides what is published, and AI output is never treated as a source.
Facts that can change are checked against the source that is responsible for them:
- visa, residency, tax and housing rules against official Spanish government and regional pages;
- opening hours, prices and booking details against the business’s own website or booking page;
- property and market figures against official statistics or named, dated market reports.
Prices are given as ranges together with the month in which they were checked. They are an orientation, not a quote. Articles that have been reviewed this way show a “Last reviewed” date and list their sources. We are working through older articles step by step, starting with residency, tax and property guides, where outdated information can cost readers money.
Our guides on residency, tax, property and investment are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Rules change, so check the current position with a qualified adviser before you act.
How places are chosen
Restaurants, golf courses, beaches and other places appear in our guides because they help answer the reader’s question: location, price level, setting, access and the kind of visitor they suit. When we compare places, we say how they were selected and when the details were checked. We only describe a visit as our own experience when a member of the team actually made it.
Advertising and paid features
costa-delsol.com is financed by advertising. Businesses can book visibility in our network of magazines through the Lifestyle Marketing Club, for example a company portrait or a sponsored article. Paid content is labelled as advertising. A paid feature can include a link to the business’s own website; we do not sell links for search engine purposes. Paying does not buy a place in an editorial guide or a favourable assessment.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email info@costa-delsol.com with the page address and what needs correcting. We check the point against a primary source and correct the article. When a correction changes the meaning of a statement, we add a dated note at the end of the article.
All other ways to reach us are on our contact page.
