Nobu Hotel Marbella: Champagne Week Pairs Dom Pérignon with the Autumn Omakase
Until 25 October, every Autumn Omakase at Nobu Marbella comes with five complimentary champagne pairings, ending with Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018.
For one week in October, Nobu Hotel Marbella turns its autumn tasting menu into a champagne dinner: from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October, every Autumn Omakase is served with complimentary glasses of Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart and Dom Pérignon.

Five glasses, six courses
Nobu Hotel Marbella has found a fitting way to mark International Champagne Day: a whole week of it. Anyone who books the Autumn Omakase between Monday 19 and Sunday 25 October receives the champagne pairing on the house, one glass after another, matched to the courses.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label opens the evening with the Chilean sea bass tacos dressed in jalapeño miso. Ruinart Rosé follows with the salmon tataki, rolled with shiso leaf and takuan in tosazu sauce, and Ruinart Blanc de Blancs accompanies the chef's sushi selection. The fourth glass, Veuve Clicquot Extra Old, meets the grilled octopus on kabocha purée. The finale belongs to Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018, poured with slow-cooked Wagyu ribs.

The autumn menu behind it
The Autumn Omakase is new this season and was created by Chef de Cuisine Yannick Lohou. It is a six-course seasonal tasting menu that begins with the signature cocktail of the month. The sushi course is its heart: toro, red mullet Matsuhisa style, white shrimp new style and mackerel tiradito style. The octopus comes with Matsuhisa dressing, the Wagyu ribs are served on a large hoba leaf with orange ginger yakitori sauce.
Dessert is called Autumn Forest, a chocolate pâte à choux filled with hazelnut praline and served with roasted pear sorbet. It is a quiet, seasonal ending after five glasses of champagne, and a reminder that the kitchen, not the cellar, sets the pace here.
A menu that stays
The menu does not disappear when Champagne Week ends. Nobu Marbella serves the Autumn Omakase as a limited edition every evening this autumn; only the complimentary champagne pairing is reserved for the seven days around International Champagne Day. Anyone who cannot make it this week can still taste the menu, just without the glasses on the house.
A kitchen with a famous signature
Nobu Marbella is one of the dining addresses of the Puente Romano resort on the Golden Mile. Executive Chef Eleni Manouso, Nobu's first female Executive Chef, leads the restaurant, where the world-famous black cod miso remains the signature dish. Dinner is served from 7 pm to 1 am from Sunday to Thursday and until 2 am on Friday and Saturday.
Our take
Champagne pairings are common on the coast; three houses and a 2018 vintage served free with a set menu are not. The restaurant calls itself, with some confidence, the hottest table in town, so anyone planning an evening on the Golden Mile before 25 October should reserve early. For the rest of the autumn, the omakase alone is reason enough to go.
